Feng shui tips on the Laughing Buddha

The Laughing Buddha is a famous feng shui tool that follows feng shui tips and is placed in homes to bring in success, prosperity, happiness, good luck and wealth. This belief stems from Chinese mythology, and has motivated not only Chinese but also people of other communities to keep Laughing Buddhas in their homes and offices.

The Laughing Buddha is basically a happy incarnation of ‘Maitreya Buddha’, who according to Buddhist culture, is considered to be the successor of Gautama Buddha. It depicts that good life and contentment can be attained in this life through a simple lifestyle, benevolence, purposeful endeavors and enlightment of knowledge.

The Laughing Buddha monk is dressed in a cloth bag called ‘pu-tai’ where it is said that the monk used to carry sweet gifts for children in his linen sack. You can find Laughing Buddhas gracing the entrance of Buddhist shrines. It has an impish grin and a protruded tummy, and is found in various poses.
