Feng shui rules for a bedroom giving good night’s sleep

Most of us have double duty bedrooms where you not only sleep in the room, but also exercise or do office work in it. However feng shui rules state that this is not advisable as the bedroom is to be a place meant only for rest, intimacy and some contemplation.

The presence of exercise gear, computers, television, telephone and desks with bills and paperwork tend to consume lots of your energy. In the process, they distract the mind from rest and romance which is against the fundamentals of the bedroom, which is to turn out day to day stress.

If you have to use your bedroom for other duties, bedroom feng shui advises using a lightweight folding screen or some beautiful fabric that is hung from a ceiling mountain curtain rod to hide these things.

Its okay to have a few books on your nightstand; however if you have numerous books, move them. This is because the different headings of these books will only distract you.

Take the phone off the hook when sleeping and if you find switching off the television to sleep difficult to do, then  bedroom feng shui suggests placing it in an armoire or cabinet so that you can shut its door while sleeping.
